Sewer and water services are provided to the Town of North Rustico from the North Rustico Sewer and Water Utility Corporation. The corporation board consists of Norman Gallant, Margaret Goulding, Selwyn Buote and is chaired by David LeClair. The board meets at the Town Office on the first Thursday of every month at 9:30AM to discuss any sewer or water related matters.

Water Testing
Every month, numerous water tests are performed on samples of the town’s water from various locations to ensure we have the best quality of water possible. Samples are taken from the town’s three wells, the water treatment plant at 116 Line Road and the waste water plant at 174 Timber Lane.
North Rustico Sewer and Water Utility Corporation received the 2014 Council of the Federation Excellence in Water Stewardship Award.

In accordance with Article 4.20 of the Prince Edward Island Municipal Water and Sewerage Utilities General Rules and Regulations, which have been adopted by this Utility, you are hereby advised that in the case of a building so located that any plumbing fixture in the building is below street level or so as to be affected by a back flow on the sewerage line, such premises shall be provided with a suitable check valve. The complete cost of the check valve shall be borne by the customer. Should you choose not to install a check valve and a backup occurs in your premises you shall be responsible for any damage sustained.

Customers are reminded that no person shall discharge or cause to be discharged directly or indirectly in the sanitary sewer storm water any surface water, ground water, roof run-off, surface drainage or the like.
