The Town of North Rustico invites all residents to join us for an interactive workshop as we begin the update to the Town of North Rustico Official Plan. The Official Plan, last updated in 2014 is a formalized statement of Goals, Objectives, Policies and Plan Actions concerning the nature, extent and pattern of land use and development within the Town until the year 2029. Although the Official Plan is written for 15 years in the future, it is usually updated every 5 years to stay relevant. The Official Plan guides the physical, social and economic development of the Town. It provides the framework for the subsequent land use bylaw and policy direction for Council’s actions in relation to economic development initiatives, public works, social programs, municipal services, environmental standards and fiscal management.
The Town of North Rustico has hired Stantec as the consultant to work with residents and Council to create and expand the vision of the future of North Rustico. Participants will receive an overview presentation before discussing visions for North Rustico, sharing what makes the community special, and then identifying opportunities and constraints for the future.
